Classics on the island of Košljun

Come and join us at the Classical music festival on the islet Košljun – an event that is not only a musical experience, but a spiritual journey in the heart of religion.

The islet of Košljun, host to a Franciscan monastery with a rich history, cultural and spiritual heritage, it is the perfect space for relaxation, spiritual reflection and enjoyment of superb music.

 

Ticket price and boat transportation cost 20€ and the departure is at 20:00h.

Tickets can be bought in the agency Plavnik or TZO Punat.

14.07. Guitar and contrabass duet - Zvonimir Radišić & Henry Radanović

This concert brings an interesting mix of jazz and original author's compositions, adjusted to a broader audience.

 

17.07. Accordion - Dražen Košmerl

This program contains compositions from famous classical music authors, and the accordion brings a special sound which will delight all lovers of classical tones.

 

20.07. Soprano and piano - Antonella Malis & Vladimir Babin

Soprano Antonella Malis, known for her crossover approach, accompanied by renowned pianist Vladimir Babin, will perform the world's most beautiful compositions, perfect for a wider audience.

 

 

The guitar and contrabass duet is performed by Zvonimir Radišić and Henry Radanović.

Zvonimir Radišić was born in Rijeka on May 8, 1991. He began his first guitar lessons at the age of nine and graduated from the “Ivan Matetić-Ronjgov” Secondary School of Music in 2009 in the class of Professor Nikola Jedrlinić. In May 2016, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, majoring in electrical engineering, and earned the title of Master of Electrical Engineering. In June 2020, he graduated from the jazz department of the “Gustav Mahler Private University for Music” in Klagenfurt, Austria, under the guidance of Professor Thomas Wallisch. In January 2023, he completed a two-year master’s program at the same university, "Masterstudium Musikalische Aufführungskunst" – Jazz Guitar (with Professors Agostino Di Giorgio and Primus Sitter) and also studied "Jazz Composition & Arrangement" as an elective (with Professor Reinhold Pleschberger-Schmölzer). Throughout his education, he received numerous national and international awards and recognitions.

He attended seminars, individual lessons, and music workshops with renowned Croatian and international guitarists, including Jonathan Kreisberg, Charles Altura, Russ Spiegel, John Stowell, Alessio Menconi, Vlatko Stefanovski, Miroslav Tadić, Primož Grašič, Jan Sturiale, Jani Moder, Elvis Stanić, Darko Jurković-Charlie, Ivan Pešut, Zoran Majstorović, and Spartaco Črnjarić. In August 2022, he released his debut original album, Zvonimir Radišić Trio – New Horizons, together with Henry Radanović on double bass and Tonči Grabušić on drums, featuring guest performances by members of the Vortex Strings string quartet. The album was released by Croatia Records. In addition to the audio release, this double edition also includes a Blu-ray video recording of the studio session.

In February 2023, he was nominated for the Porin Music Award in three categories:

• Best Arrangement

• Best New Artist of the Year

In 2024, he became a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists' Association (HZSU). 

 

Henry Radanović was born in Rijeka on May 28, 1966. He is an 11-time recipient of the Status Award from the Croatian Musicians’ Union for most outstanding instrumentalist in jazz and urban music category for bass guitar and double bass. His solo album Long Distance also earned him a Porin music award. He has twice received the Fender Mega Muzika award. After attending elementary music school for classical guitar, he began playing bass guitar in mid-80s, influenced by the pop, rock, and jazz scenes of the time. He played in various bands in Rijeka and began collaborations with many prominent figures from the Rijeka music scene, including Robert Funčić, Elvis Stanić, Duško Rapotec-Ute, Tonči Grabušić, Charlie Jurković, Denis Razumović, Meri Trošelj, and many others. In the early 1990s, he co-founded the Elvis Stanić Group with Elvis Stanić and Tonči Grabušić, a band that performed at numerous jazz festivals across the region and released multiple albums, several of which received Porin awards.

He has performed and recorded with a wide range of eminent jazz artists, including Boško Petrović, Neven Frangeš, Matija Dedić, Darko Jurković, Goran Končar, Krunoslav Levačić, Duško Gojković, Renato Chicco, Marko Lazarić, Denis Razumović, Igor Geržina, Ivan Popeskić, Zvjezdan Ružić, Branimir Gazdik, Zvonimir Radišić, Bruno Mičetić, Meri Trošelj, Tamara Obrovac, Valerija Nikolovska, and many others.

 

 

Performed by Dražen Košmerl, an award-winning musician, his music is sure to captivate the audience and impress guests with his accordion skills.

 

 

The last day of the classical musics festival is carried out by Antonella Malis (soprano) i Vladimir Babin (piano).

Antonella Malis is a croatian sopranist and an award winner of the international competition „Pacem in terris“. With the accompaniment of Vladimir Babin, who is believed to be one of the most prominent representative of croatian pianists, this performance is sure to be an experience one could never forget.
